Plot

Sarkaru Vaari Paata is about Mahesh “Mahi”, a sure-footed and shrewd money-lender from the United States. While living a normal life, Mahi meets Kalavathi, a spirited and fun-loving young woman, and his life changes. She takes out a huge loan from him, but never pays it back. Mahi decides to get his money back and goes to India where he finds that Kalavathi is the daughter of a wealthy businessman and influential banker Rajendranath. As Mahi digs deeper, he finds a much bigger financial scam, orchestrated by the powerful people who have used the financial system, have defaulted on large loans and have been left off the hook.

Although normal people have to pay back even their small debt, influential businessmen exploit the system in their own gain. With his sharp mind, bravery and ingenuity, Mahi takes on Rajendranath and his associates to bring to light the corruption. As he travels on, a relation of war changes to love and he learns about Kalavathi’s values and her willingness to help his mission more. The story culminates in a series of intense confrontations, where Mahi confronts corruption, fights for justice and sends a strong message around financial responsibility and equality before the law. The movie ends with good old fashioned moral victory over the wickedness of money-making, and simultaneously a commercial success and a social message on ethical banking and accountability.
