Plot
The movie is a story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, his life as a young and ambitious army officer and his rise to become a national hero. Against this backdrop of the Indo-Pak war of 1971, the story tells of his training days, his personal relationships, and how he became a tank commander in the Battle of Basantar. As the story progresses, it brings out his bravery and leadership of confronting the enemy forces against all odds.
Similarly, the movie too traces events a few years later when the father of Arun comes to Pakistan and reminisces the sacrifice of his son. The combination of past and present timelines creates the emotional connection to the story, not just the horrors of war but also the human price of the war. The movie ends with a heart-rending and heart-wrenching climax on the legacy of a soldier who sacrificed his life for the country at the tender age of 21.
